first_imgAustralia’s best young talent united in Sydney over the weekend to train together for the first time as the Australian National Youth Squads. Australia’s 18’s and 20’s Boys and Girls squads trained tirelessly over the weekend, impressing in their first foray as National Youth Squad members for the 2015 Youth Trans Tasman Series campaign, which will be held in January next year. It wasn’t all smooth sailing – Friday’s Sydney Airport Terminal Two closure threw a spanner in the works, with some player’s flights pushed back until late Friday night and early Saturday morning, before Saturday afternoon’s wild weather changed plans for teams – but the teams were still incredibly eager to make the most of their time together. Touch Football Australia’s High Performance Manager, Wayne Grant, said the weekend was a big success and looks forward to the rest of the Youth Trans Tasman Series campaign. “It was a great camp held in some trying conditions but the way the players and coaches approached the weekend has me delighted the Youth Trans Tasman preparation has started off on the right track,” Grant said. “We have some tremendously talented youth in our game with some amazing skill levels that continue to improve year after year.”To view photos from the weekend, be sure to visit the TFA social media pages:Facebook – www.facebook.com/touchfootballaustraliaTwitter – www.twitter.com/touchfootyausInstagram – www.instagram.com/touchfootballaustralia Related LinksAussie camp a successlast_img
