first_imgDeputy Pádraig Mac Lochlainn has made representations to Irish Water requesting that they and the water meter installers, GMC Sierra meet with the Buncrana Residents Group “Buncrana Against Irish Water”.Deputy Mac Lochlainn said he recently met with the “Buncrana Against Irish Water” campaign group to discuss their request for negotiations between Irish Water and GMC Sierra and local residents based on the model in the Moneymore area of Drogheda, County Louth.“These negotiations are aimed at avoiding the tense standoffs and protests between residents and water meter installers with gardaí caught in the middle that have emerged across the state. “The Buncrana Against Irish Water committee have met local gardaí to discuss their proposals and I support their request for a meeting with Irish Water and GMC Sierra”.He concluded “Of course, this entire mess has been created by a Government who are wasting hundreds of millions of euro of our money on water meters to pursue an agenda that I and my party believe will be defeated. We have repeatedly called on the Government to cease the installation of water meters and instead invest the money into preventing the loss of 40% of our treated water, leaking out of pipes in Donegal and across the State “. IRISH WATER SHOULD MEET BUNCRANA RESIDENTS GROUP – MacLOCHLAINN was last modified: March 4th, 2015 by StephenShare this:Click to share on Facebook (Opens in new window)Click to share on Twitter (Opens in new window)Click to share on LinkedIn (Opens in new window)Click to share on Reddit (Opens in new window)Click to share on Pocket (Opens in new window)Click to share on Telegram (Opens in new window)Click to share on WhatsApp (Opens in new window)Click to share on Skype (Opens in new window)Click to print (Opens in new window) Tags:buncranaDeputy Padraig MacLochlainnIrish Waterlast_img
