Gokulam, on the other hand, are placed 7th in the table. This is Real Kashmir’s first season in the I-League after winning the second division last year while this is the second season when Gokulam are playing in the I-League.Real Kashmir FC took to Twitter to lash out at Gokulam for the way their officials abused the former’s coaching staff and officials, how they had no transportation till the training facility and the training pitch was in tatters.advertisementSHAME! RKFC officials including head coach David Robertson abused by @GokulamKeralaFC officials. No bus for training. No training ground. Matter reported to @ILeagueOfficial. But no way to treat guests. And they call it god’s own country.Real Kashmir FC (@realkashmirfc) December 14, 2018Real Kashmir posted a video of a Gokulam official telling Real Kashmir’s coaching staff to leave the ground and play on the ground, not “on our pitch”.Real Kashmir officials can be heard angrily saying, “We’ll show you there, nonsense people”. They are even heard shouting, “Give us a time to come and play.”When Real Kashmir officials question the groundsman if that is the way to treat guests, the groundsman can be heard saying, “I know. I have a reputation.”RKFC head coach and staff being asked to leave training ground. ‘This is Kerala not Kashmir’ @realkashmirfc told. Strange. pic.twitter.com/kTjkqC1bEvReal Kashmir FC (@realkashmirfc) December 14, 2018Real Kashmir posted another video of the training pitch that had only a patch of grass where the players were doing the warm-up. The rest of the ground had no grass and looked in a pathetic state.Does this look like a training ground??? Team @realkashmirfc had to train on this dump as no ground or transport provided for training today in [email protected] pic.twitter.com/OK0G4qi1EdReal Kashmir FC (@realkashmirfc) December 14, 2018Gokulam also took to Twitter to issue a sequential clarification to all the allegations made by Real Kashmir. Gokulam said that they had arranged for a bus for the club officials to the Medical College training ground — a bus they never took and that they never arrived for training at Medical College.Gokulam further said that Real Kashmir invaded the EMS stadium where training a day before the match is not allowed. Gokulam also alleged that Real Kashmir officials manhandled the groundsman and used foul language.Update: Today is Harthal’ (Strike) organised by a political party. After a long previous night of arrangements to get the transport for both the teams, we managed to send the bus for RKFC. Medical college ground was booked for RKFCs training. (1/n) pic.twitter.com/xF69SP64D7Gokulam Kerala FC (@GokulamKeralaFC) December 14, 2018Before the bus arrived, RKFCs officials who are staying in a nearby hotel invaded the EMS Stadium, where training a day before the match is not allowed by any MC. To keep this in track, we refused to let them train in the EMS. (2/n)Gokulam Kerala FC (@GokulamKeralaFC) December 14, 2018RKFC officials stormed the FOP and manhandled the groundsman and threw his phone away when he tried to capture what Mr. Robertson and his club members tried to do.Note, Mr. Robertson called our CEO a a fu**** ba**** for doing the things he had to do. (3/n)Gokulam Kerala FC (@GokulamKeralaFC) December 14, 2018Questions:Why was the bus provided not used by them to get to the medical college ground when we had already arranged everything even in harthal? They did train the previous day in the same place. Why invade the stadium to train when it is not allowed by M. Comissioner?(4/n)advertisementGokulam Kerala FC (@GokulamKeralaFC) December 14, 2018Remember, Medical college ground is probably the best of all the grounds that we have here. Getting a practice ground here is not easy and we agree that we couldn’t provide the best for all the teams, which is why we practice in the same ground we provide to the opponents. (5/n)Gokulam Kerala FC (@GokulamKeralaFC) December 14, 2018Since RKFC did not reach the practice ground on the allotted time, we have even requested to extend the time hoping they might reach a bit late and train which was agreed by the Medical College. But no, that did not happen. (6/n)Gokulam Kerala FC (@GokulamKeralaFC) December 14, 2018And just because @realkashmirfc admin woke up a bit early and blurted things out, it doesn’t mean it is the neither right or wrong. Keep your sentiments for new club from Kashmir aside and think through the whole situation! (n/n)Gokulam Kerala FC (@GokulamKeralaFC) December 14, 2018Gokulam also particularly picked at the training ground video that Real Kashmir put and said this was only the warm-up area of the training facility and not the ground. This is not a training ground. It’s a warm up area of the stadium, lol.Errors in this tweet:1. Had to = Chose to.2. Not provided = refused by us.Lights. Camera. Request local authorities to intervene to ensure safety of players & staff.Omar Abdullah (@OmarAbdullah) December 14, 2018Gokulam, however, had a response to that as well.Yes. Sure.To a point where they’re unsure they’ll be safe playing tomorrow?Probably that’s why they didn’t want to practice today? https://t.co/jttNvklhwyGokulam Kerala FC (@GokulamKeralaFC) December 14, 2018Official statement from Gokulam Kerala FCGokulam Kerala FC CEO Ashok Kumar was manhandled by a bunch of Real Kashmir FC officials today at EMS Corporation Stadium.Real Kashmir FC was allotted Kozhikode Medical College ground for training after the inspection done by the Match Commissioner on Thursday. Due to hartal, we had difficulty in arranging transport to Medical College Ground on time. The training time was at 10 am and the bus reached at the hotel at 10.06 AM.But instead of waiting for the bus, the whole Real Kashmir team barged in to the stadium and started to make a melee. The strike and the difficulty to get transport were informed to them and the AIFF officially on Wednesday itself.advertisementHowever, the players and officials barged into the stadium, hurling abuses. When our CEO requested them to leave the stadium, they manhandled our CEO and Kozhikode District Football Association official Hammeed. They snatched Hameed’s mobile phone and threw it on ground, thereby destroying it.They went on to train at the ground. During training they intentionally destroyed two Hero I-League runner boards. The runner boards were destroyed intentionally by kicking the boards on the sidelines during the training. Picture taken after the RKFC team left the stadium.Gokulam Kerala FC has been a good host to all the travelling teams. No teams were allowed to train at the field of play match day minus one. The home team also trains at the same venue of the away team.We have arranged training ground at Medical College ground, which is one of the best football pitches available in Kozhikode for the away teams to train. We have paid for the ground and no other I-League team does the same to the traveling team.Several teams including Minerva Punjab CEO Ranjit Bajaj has personally appreciated our hospitality when their team traveled to Kozhikode.Despite instigating violence and abusing Gokulam Kerala FC officials, they have spread blatant lies on social media. Police have taken a statement of the events occurred at the stadium. The match commissioner was also present at the stadium.Instead of behaving like professionals, Real Kashmir FC officials behaved like a set of hooligans. We have officially complained to the AIFF about the misconduct of the Real Kashmir officials.Gokulam Kerala FC will continue to be good hosts for all the visiting teams and use everything at its disposal to give the best facilities to the opponent teams. A single unfortunate situation caused by one sporting entity will not change our values. Gokulam Kerala FC requests all the concerned people to end this chapter here and let the real battle be fought on the pitch. Also Read | I was dejected when we missed the last edition of AFC Asian Cup: Sunil ChhetriAlso Read | Minerva and Chennayin may play AFC games in AhmedabadAlso See:last_img read more
