Paramedics were sent to the 5200 block of South Paramount Boulevard at 10:26 a.m., said county fire Inspector Ron Haralson. The circumstances of the accident were under investigation. The patients were transported to a hospital for examination. Santa Fe High was one of 59 schools statewide to be named National Demonstration sites. Senior center offers massages WHITTIER – The Whittier Senior Center, 13225 Walnut St., will offer free massages to seniors from 11:30 a.m. to 1:30 p.m. Tuesday. Free blood glucose test to be offered WHITTIER – The Los Nietos Community and Senior Center, 11640 E. Slauson Ave., will offer a free blood glucose check from 11 a.m. to 1 p.m. Tuesday. Applications open for scholarship SANTA FE SPRINGS – The deadline to turn in applications for the annual $20,000 Destiny Scholarship and the Powell Grant is 4:30 p.m. March 30. Applications should be submitted at the Santa Fe Springs Chamber of Commerce, 12016 Telegraph Road, Suite 100. Applications are available at numerous locations around the city, including the Chamber of Commerce. Destiny Scholarship applicants must be high school seniors. They must have resided in city for two or more years. And they must have a 3.0 grade-point average or higher. Powell Grant applicants must be either currently enrolled in college, an art academy or a trade school, or must be a graduating high school senior.
