Plexiglass will be used during the vice presidential debate, but is it effective?

first_imgThe changes come after President Donald Trump tested positive for the coronavirus last Friday. BINGHAMTON (WBNG) — The Vice Presidential debate on Oct. 7 will look a bit different than years past; for starters, the candidates will stand 12-feet apart and will be shielded each by plexiglass. Emmi says that during the summer Binghamton Plate Glass was very busy with demand as offices, schools, and businesses are implementing the material into their spaces. Plexiglass, she adds, is a resin material which is high use for barrier and safety, adding that it has different thickness levels and can be formed into a variety of sizes. Diane Emmi, general manager at Binghamton Plate Glass, says it is. While she says it won’t entirely protect you from the virus, it does help. But what exactly is plexiglass? And is it effective? “Creating a barrier between droplets and air particles that can be contaminated is very important and the distance and the barrier really make a difference in controlling everything,” said Emmi. She says it might even be the future of offices. You can find out more information about Binghamton Plate Glass here.last_img read more
